About Dartwords

What's the Word?

Dartwords gives you a mystery word to figure out, but there's a catch: you don't get any clues before making your first guess. You can enter almost any English word, and Darty, the game's little talking companion, will respond with a hint based on what you've typed. You have just ten guesses, so you'll need to pay attention if you want to reach the answer.

Forget about checking letters in colored boxes. Dartwords works more like a conversation, with Darty helping you explore the meaning of the hidden word. Every guess also lands on a target board, giving you another way to judge how close your thinking is to the mark.

Stop Guessing in Circles

It's tempting to throw out words that seem related and hope one sticks. However, you'll usually get further by testing different ideas first. Try something broad, like an emotion, an animal, a place, or an action, and see how Darty reacts. That first bit of feedback can give you a useful starting point.

Pay attention when your guesses seem close but don't quite hit the target. Swapping one synonym for another may not get you anywhere if you're thinking about the wrong category. Take a step back and try a different connection instead. With only ten darts, wasting several on nearly identical words can leave you scrambling at the end.

Darty Has Something to Tell You

Darty isn't just there to fill the screen with chatter. The responses are designed to guide your thinking without simply handing over the answer. Combining those clues with the target board gives you two ways to work out where the mystery word might be hiding.

Come Back Tomorrow

There's a fresh puzzle every day, making Dartwords a handy little challenge when you have a few minutes to spare. Some answers might come quickly, while others will have you staring at the board and rethinking every guess. Landing on the right word after a string of wrong turns is what makes the final dart feel worthwhile.
