About Hollywoodle

The Goal Is Simple

Hollywoodle hands you two actors every day. Your job is to connect them through the films they’ve appeared in, using as few moves as you can manage. Sometimes you’ll immediately know a shared movie. Most of the time, you’ll have to hop from film to film, actor to actor, until everything lines up.

How You Make the Connection

You begin with the first actor on the list. Type in a movie they starred in, choose a co-star from the cast, and then name another movie that next actor appeared in. You keep building your chain one step at a time until you finally land on the second actor of the day. When the path clicks together, it’s surprisingly satisfying.

Moves, Mistakes, and Hints

Every correct answer adds one move. A hint also counts as one, but it can save you from wasting several guesses. A wrong guess hurts a bit more; that’s three moves. If you type a movie the goal actor was in, but the current actor wasn’t, you still get partial credit with two moves. Not perfect, but at least you demonstrated solid movie knowledge.

Your First Run Matters Most

Only the first playthrough of the day affects your statistics, so each decision carries a little weight. Some days, the two actors have worked together, giving you the chance to clear the puzzle in one move. Those days feel like winning the movie-trivia lottery.

Why People Keep Coming Back

Hollywoodle is fast, clever, and has just enough of a challenge to make you want another round the next morning. If you enjoy movies, trivia, or that moment when a connection suddenly pops into place, it’s an easy habit to fall into, and a fun one to keep.
